Kanatha-Aki Nature Center
Welcome to Kanatha-Aki. Kanatha-Aki is an Amerindian philosophy that means "guardian of the boundless earth" in Algonquin.
Our center invites you to take part in our winter and summer activities, to get away and discover the most beautiful and wildest things that nature has to offer!
Accompanied by a team of enthusiastic and professional people, we offer various customized packages that respect our animals:
walks, hikes, excursions and expeditions on dog sleds in the winter and on horseback in the summer so you can be one with animals and nature; forest survival courses and training to learn how to live in the wild; fishing expeditions (fly fishing, line fishing, fishing by hand, and ice fishing) so you can enjoy your own catch; authentic days with our trapper-coureur des bois to better understand past ways of life; encounters with wood bison (Athabascae) to observe these fascinating animals; visits to our traditional Amerindian site to discover native culture and philosophy... and to prolong the fun, we're offering you the experience of an overnight in either a traditional tepee on a bed of pine and bison skins, a hut at the top of the mountain with a breathtaking view of the valley, or a trapper's log cabin!
